Candles
Candle Wax Selection: Soy, Paraffin, Coconut & Blends
Wax Types Overview
The four main candle waxes each serve different market positions:
Soy Wax: Natural, renewable, clean burn. Best for premium and eco-positioned brands. 30-50% longer burn time than paraffin.
Paraffin Wax: Petroleum-derived, cheapest option, excellent hot throw. Best for volume brands and vibrant colours.
Coconut Wax: Premium natural option, excellent scent throw, creamy appearance. Often blended with soy for best performance.
Beeswax: Natural, subtle honey scent, longest burn. Premium positioning, limited scent-loading capacity.
Performance Comparison
| Metric | Soy | Paraffin | Coconut | Beeswax |
|---|---|---|---|---|

Blends: The Best of Both Worlds
Many successful brands use blends: soy-paraffin (70/30) for cost-performance balance, or soy-coconut for premium natural positioning with better throw.
Our Recommendation
For Western markets: soy or soy-coconut blend for your hero line. For volume/value: paraffin or soy-paraffin blend.
