Quality Inspection for Aroma Products: AQL, Testing & What to Check

What is AQL?

AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) is the international standard for sampling inspection. AQL 2.5 means you accept up to 2.5% defective units in a random sample.

Key Checkpoints for Candles

• Visual: cracks, bubbles, frosting, colour consistency
• Dimensional: height, diameter, weight within tolerance
• Functional: burn test (flame height, soot, tunneling)
• Packaging: label accuracy, barcode scan, box integrity

Key Checkpoints for Oils

• Appearance: clarity, colour, sediment
• Scent: matches approved sample
• Fill level: within ±2% tolerance
• Seal integrity: no leaks

When to Inspect

• During production (DUPRO): Catch issues early, when rework is still possible
• Pre-shipment (PSI): Final check before goods leave factory
• On arrival: Verify no transit damage

Third-Party Inspection

We welcome SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or your nominated inspector. We coordinate scheduling and provide full access to production and warehouse.
