EU CLP Labelling for Candles & Diffusers: Complete Guide
Aromiso Team 1 min read
What is CLP?
CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) is the EU regulation governing how chemical products — including candles and diffusers — must be labelled with hazard information.
Required Label Elements
- Hazard pictograms (e.g., flame, exclamation mark, environment)
- Signal word (Warning or Danger)
- Hazard statements (H-codes)
- Precautionary statements (P-codes)
- Allergen declarations (for fragrances)
- UFI code (Unique Formula Identifier)
- Supplier identification
UFI Codes
Since 2021, all hazardous mixtures sold in the EU require a UFI code. This 16-character code links your product to its exact formula in poison centre databases.
Common Mistakes
- Missing allergen declarations (linalool, limonene, etc.)
- Wrong pictogram selection
- Missing UFI code
- Labels not in destination-country language
Our Service
We produce fully compliant CLP labels for every EU-bound product, including allergen declarations, UFI registration and destination-language text.
